As winter months arrive, and their chill fills the air, there is nothing better than a great bottle of wine. Showing gratitude for life’s little treasures and not worrying about the small stuff, like ‘what kind of wine I should have on hand for the Holidays?’

With so many wine choices today, it can be difficult to decide which one(s) to buy and try. With that in mind, here are a few staple producers that are sure to lead you down a path of appreciation.
Chateau St Michelle Winery has been growing grapes since 1934. Being the oldest winery in Washington state, they have an on-going dedication to research with a commitment to classic winemaking tradition and are best known for award winning Riesling, Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Chateau St Michelle portfolio includes Columbia Valley wine styles to bring out the varietal character of the region.

A to Z Winery founded in 2002 is one of the fastest growing wineries in Oregon. Their business model is simple; to produce and market Oregon’s best value wines. Producing Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Unoaked Chardonnay, taste why Food & Wine Magazine awards them the best Pinot Noir for under $20.00.
Joel Gott winery for over a decade has been building grower relationships. Allowing their winemaking team to produce amazing, high quality wine that has incredible balance while still offering value. Originally starting out as a Zinfandel producer, Joel soon branched out and now makes Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling. In 2009 Joel partnered with Trinchero Family Estates to focus on winemaking and innovation.

Are you bubbling yet? Who could forget the libation that needs no introduction and shouldn’t have to wait for New Year’s Eve to be enjoyed . . . none other than Champagne or Sparkling wine. Chime in with an array of choices, including Lunetta Prosecco from Italy, Michelle Brut, Extra Dry or Rose from Washington, Chandon Blanc de Noir from California or if you want to step it up a notch, savor the tradition from the Champagne houses of Veuve Clicquot or Nicolas Feuillatte.

Each has its own great story to tell, but over the years each have kept with tradition, and have been producing quality wines and sparkling spirits. This holiday, explore and appreciate the little treasures. Maybe one or more that includes a bottle of wine!
