Diverse UWO Summer Camps Offer Kids, Families Close-To-Home, Quality Learning, Fun

By Alex Hummel

T

he notion of “summer camp” conjures up images of piney forests “up north,” canoeing in lakes, glowing evening fires and all sorts of other stereotypical ideas relegated to woods and waters.

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh continues to bring an entirely new look and feel to the idea of “summer camp.” Soon, another school year will wind down. And, for many students, the opportunity to venture off to summer camp will fire up… at their “backyard” University.

Students (and their families) don’t have to venture up to the northwoods. UW Oshkosh has an entire menu of diverse, hands-on, learning-focused camps at the ready for local and regional students and families. Students can learn more about each summer camp opportunity and register at uwosh.edu/camps. Also, like “UW Oshkosh Lifelong Learning and Community Engagement” (LLCE) on Facebook.

Here’s a quick glance at some of the camps the University is offering this summer. Registration remains open, and students and their families are encouraged to register soon:
